TRADITIONAL SONG FROM OUR REGION - ISTRIA (CROATIA)

The region of Istria is a cultural "melting pot" of different cultures, traditions, folklore and music! From the times of gladiators and roaring crowds having fun in the Roman Arena, to the Venetian-style living passing to the Habsburg empire, italian and, nowadays, croatian living style. Two colours represent our peninsula: the blue and the green, and one animal, the istrian goat, can be found on our region's flag.

If you choose the blue sky and sea, you will hear the music that accompains the fishermen works; if you go the green, the mountains of istrian interior and its folk will change very very quick! :-) We choose a "green" route, with the traditional song about a man named Tone and his darling, Tonina. This unique "sound" is from 2009 on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity! Wednesday 20th, time for virtual coordination meeting. A lot of activities are ready to be started with our ERASMUS PROJECT! We will enjoy in traditional songs from all project partners during the months of February and March. We will discover the folklore of Tommelloso and experiment with the steps of our own JOTA_VERSION! Let see what will we prepare soon! Let's go on! :-)
